Dichotomy
Created in response to the Kavanaugh hearings, Nancy Schwartz-Katz conducted conversations with children and adults from around the United States on their responses to the trial. What do we tell our children? What are our kids really thinking about? Dichotomy reflects the uncertainty of raising young people in a world vastly different from the one we grew up in. The piece explores the tension between what we say and what we withhold, what we believe and what we voice. It asks how much our words truly land, what our children are thinking beneath the surface, and whether silence can sometimes speak as loudly as instruction or does it just dissolve.
