Shaker Heights Public Works Utility Box

The Shaker Arts Council (SHAC) "Painting the Town" project, active since 2016, transforms municipal utility boxes into public art, with nearly six dozen decorated boxes featuring designs from local artists and students along the Green and Blue Rapid Transit lines in Shaker Heights, Ohio. SHAC hosts an annual, juried "Painting the Town" competition for new designs. Here are one of the two designs submitted, won and created by Nancy Schwartz-Katz. that were submitted and reproduced.
