Congregation B'nai Jeshuran commission for Dennis and Cohen Library
Creation; Our Laws; How We Live; How We Survive
6’ × 22’ | Gouache on paper
This site-specific series was created for the Denis Library at B’nai Jeshurun in Pepper Pike, Ohio. Commissioned by philanthropist Susanna Cohen, the work was designed for a children’s area, using visual storytelling to introduce core Jewish narratives.
The four panels explore Creation; how we came to be; Moses; our laws; Joseph; how we live; and Esther; how we survive. Through layered color and symbolism, each story highlights its central theme while allowing quieter details to unfold over time. Elements such as the Four Species in Creation, the unfolding narrative of Moses, the tribal symbolism in Joseph, and the celebratory movement in Esther invite viewers of all ages to engage and learn in these enduring stories
